I was out running errands.
I noticed I probably had 15 miles left before my car was going to run out of gas.
So I pulled into the gas station to fill up my tank.
I was about one minute away from topping off my tank when a lady from the other side of the pump asked if I could come over and help her.
I figured her gas gap was on too tight and she couldn’t break it lose.
(I had that happen to me a few times.)
So I walked around the pump and asked her what she needed.
She pointed to the place where you slide your credit card in to swipe it to activate the pump.
Well her card was stuck in the machine.
I was watching her try to pull it out with no luck.
So I tried.
At first I couldn’t get it out either.
I didn’t have a good enough grip but there was hardly any of the card showing so there wasn’t much to grab.
I tried again but still had no luck.
So I grabbed the pliers and gave her card a yank.
It came right out.
I looked at the card to make sure it wasn’t damaged from the machine and it wasn’t.
So why did it stick?
The black strip that gets scanned by the internal part of the card reader was not only upside down but backwards.
I guess for whatever reason that causes it to stick inside the machine.
Just that tiny little detail that most people never even pay attention to was all the difference in the world for that woman to be able to fill up her car with gas.
Sometimes it’s the little details that make all the difference.
Take the foods and drinks that you consume on a daily basis for example.
Just cutting out something as simple as soda or juice can drastically change your calorie and sugar intake for the day.
That’s just one small detail.
But many small details done right can have massive rewards.
Just changing a few small things in foods you eat, the times you eat and the portions can be the difference between you either gaining weight…
Staying at the same weight…
Or finally dropping those unwanted pounds for good.
So if you need a little help with your diet but don’t want to make drastic changes just yet…
