I’ve had a sweet tooth for as long as I can remember.
If there was something sweet in my family’s house growing up I couldn’t resist.
I had so many cavities as a kid.
My dentist probably knew me better than his assistants from seeing me so much.
How I still have teeth I’ll never know.
So a few years ago…
When I tried dieting for the first time in my life…
I hated it.
I tried the South Beach Diet, The Atkin’s Diet, The Raw Food Diet, etc. I tried them and just couldn’t stick with any of them.
They were too restrictive on what you could and couldn’t eat.
So I figured out how to lose weight on my own.
And I managed to do it without starving myself or never being able to have a cheat day now and then.
I ended up losing over 70 pounds and I credit this one little trick for being an important reason why. Pick one food that you love to eat or snack on. Just one. That is going to be your reward. You can not have this food until you reach your goal but you need to make your goals extremely small and realistic.
My first reward was when I lost my first 5 pounds.
When I lost 5 pounds I was allowed to eat a cupcake (I may have had two actually).
I could not eat another cupcake until I got to my next goal which was another 5 pounds lost.
Needless to say…
I ended up losing over 70 pounds and I credit this one little trick to a lot of the success I had on losing weight.
So set small goals and pick one food item that you can not touch until you meet that goal.
